Do Not Assume Your Case is Hopeless

Although you have been arrested, it does not necessarily follow that you will be convicted.  The law allows an arrest on the basis of "probable cause".  However in order to secure a criminal conviction the government must prove guilt "beyond a reasonable doubt" which is a much more difficult standard to meet.  In fact, the state may not have the evidence necessary to prove guilt by the required standard.  Evidence may be suppressed, witnesses may be missing or the evidence may just not be strong enough to convict you.  However, none of this will matter if you simply plead guilty at the first available opportunity.

An experienced Fort Bend County Criminal Defense Attorney may be able to identify weaknesses in the prosecution's evidence which may allow for the suppression of evidence resulting in a dismissal, acquittal or reduction of charges. 

Finding the Right Lawyer

These attorneys will gladly assist you in presenting your plea of guilt to the court in return for a small fee. Rest assured, the prosecutors are familiar with these lawyers and in my opinion the plea agreements offered to these attorneys are unduly harsh.  If the prosecutor does not respect your attorney, your case will not be given the consideration you deserve.
